Position Purpose
The Controller is a key financial leader responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information, providing financial insights, and supporting strategic decision-making. They are also entrusted with leading the accounting team, driving success in the execution of daily responsibilities.
Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities
1. Preparing accurate and timely financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements).
2. Analyzing financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
3. Providing financial insights and recommendations to senior management.
4. Ensuring compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) or other relevant accounting standards.
5. Manage the day-to-day operations of the accounting department including the general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
6. Managing the month-end and year-end closing processes.
7. Ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial records.
8. Identify and implement process improvements that enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.
9. Eliminate manual accounting processes through automation and the integration of new technologies and systems.
10. Supervise, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and professional growth.
11. Developing and implementing accounting policies and procedures.
12. Fostering a culture of accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
13. Assigning duties and reviewing work.
14. Contributing to the budgeting and forecasting process.
15. Providing financial insights and recommendations to senior management.
16. Assisting with tax compliance and reporting.
17. Working with external auditors.
18. Recommending and maintaining effective internal control procedures.
19. Contributing to the development of financial strategies.
20. Providing financial analysis for strategic initiatives.
21. Advising management on financial related subjects.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements (Essential Skills, Knowledge & Abilities)
1. Bachelor"s degree in accounting or finance (master's degree preferred).
2. CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) certification preferred.
3. A minimum of 7 years' experience in a dynamic accounting environment
4. 3-5 years in a leadership role managing a team
5. Extensive experience in accounting and financial management.
6. Strong knowledge of GAAP or IFRS.
7. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
8. Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
9. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
10. Leadership and management experience.
11. Strong understanding of internal controls.

Executes supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Firm"s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include providing guidance, support, and direction to team members; conductingperformance evaluations; fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment; ensuring adherence to Firm policies and procedures; and contributing to team member development and operational goals.
