What you need to know about this position:
- The Network Engineer – Intermediate works closely with architects, operations and application analysts to ensure network consistency.
- This role engineers new technologies, makes judgments and takes immediate actions required to maintain service delivery continuity, recommends changes in technology direction, implements agreed to changes to hardware and networks.
- This position requires the capacity to manage multiple priorities and to communicate complex technical information in clear terms to individuals with minimal experience in technology.
- This position includes all aspects of network system monitoring, network system administration, troubleshooting, fine-tuning, enhancements and documentation.
- This position is also involved in new system installs, configurations, and upgrades relative to supported technologies.
- The Network Engineer – Intermediate endorses and uses approved Information Services Methodologies and has the responsibility to provide level 2 and 3 support for the network.
- This role is responsible for the design, implementation, administration, and support for all data network in adherence with defined policies and procedures.
- The Network Engineer – Intermediate will also provide mentoring and training to existing and future network staff. This role utilizes networking technologies coupled with polished business skills and serves as an expert for the department.
- The hourly range for this position is between $40.11 and $64.06, annualized to $83,429 and $179,368. Individual compensation is determined for this position through years of directly relevant experience. The hourly compensation is only a portion of the total rewards package and a comprehensive benefits program is available for qualifying positions.
- This full-time position will require you to work Monday through Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm, with an on-call rotation. This position is partially remote eligible, requiring a candidate to be at the Columbus Indiana facility weekly, if not daily.
What is required for this position:
Education and/or Experience
- Associate's degree or Technical Certificate in a related field is required.
- Bachelor's degree in System/Computer Technology and/or a minimum of 5 to 7 years' experience in a technical systems environment demonstrating progressive capabilities, or an equivalent combination of education & experience preferred.
- CISCO internetworking device experience required.
- Prior experience in OS networking, DNS, WINS, DHCP, Content distribution technologies, network design, data/network and information security, network management and network management tools, use of packet capture and other troubleshooting tools required.
- Experience supporting load balancers, traffic shapers, VPN, firewalls, and Layer 2 and 3 wireless, VolP required.
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment required.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations
- Interconnecting Cisco Network Devices (ICND) certification preferred.
- Cisco Certified Networking Associate certification (CCNA) preferred.
- Paloalto experience with certificate preferred.
- Valid Indiana driver's license required
