This position is full-time, 40 hours per week.

What are the duties and responsibilities?
General Administrative FunctionsTrack additional charges and copy to parent accounts as neededAssist with enrolling new familiesAssist with inventory and orderingMaintain child filesProvide families with information and assistance with community resourcesMaintain a professional attitude and loyalty to the center at all timesAttend all staff meetings and recommended training programs and conferencesParticipate fully to any fundraising activities given to the centerOther duties as assigned by the Center Director and/or Childcare Program Manager
Center Management and Quality of CareEnsure quality of care is excellent and families are well taken care ofMaintain a positive rapport with families, children and staff at all timesAssist with the arrangement, appearance, décor and learning environment of the classroom and its learning centersEnsure policies and procedures that ensure the well-being of children are followed, such as:Developmentally appropriate curriculumPositive behavior management plansSafe arrival and departureAssist with general housekeeping tasksClean bathroom, kitchen and laundry areas as neededTake out garbage as needed
ComplianceMaintain appropriate staff ratiosFollow all Department of Human Services Regulations at all times with no exceptionsAssist Center Director with participation in NAEYC and/or Keystone STARS grant programKnow the number and names of all children in your group at all times while in ratioReport cases of suspected child abuse/neglect according to PA State Law with HR Support when necessary
Management and SupervisionAssist Center Supervisor with training new staff as they beginEstablish and maintain a healthy, safe and fun working environmentProvide support to staff and maintain employee confidentialitySupervise all activities to ensure safety at all times
What are the required qualifications?
A high school diploma or a general educational development certificate and 30 credit hours from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human service field.A high school diploma or a general educational development certificate, including 600 hours of secondary training (CCP or CDA).A high school diploma or a general educational development certificate, 15 credit hours from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human service field and 1 year of experience with children.A high school diploma or a general educational development certificate and completion of a post-secondary training curriculum (CCP or CDA).A high school diploma or a general educational development certificate and 2 years of experience with children.

Appropriate clearances: PA State Criminal History Record, Child Abuse Report, FBI Criminal History (PDE and DHS), NSOR Clearance and Mandated Reporter Trainings. First Aid – CPR Certification Trainings as required by PA Department of Human Services, Department of Education, PKC, and/or The Learning Lamp Clearances, trainings, physicals, and certifications must be kept current
What are the physical requirements?
Ability to lift, push, pull and/or carry up to 40 pounds on a regular basis Sitting, standing, walking, bending and stooping for long periods of time up to eight hours per day
