Position Summary:
- As an Equipment Technician at Sand Valley, you will play a critical role in ensuring that all machinery operates at peak performance to support the maintenance of our golf courses. Your technical expertise will be essential for performing routine maintenance and executing prompt repairs, ensuring smooth operations. This role requires a proactive attitude, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to collaborate with the Equipment Manager to uphold our high standards.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Daily Maintenance & Repair: Inspect, service, and repair various golf course maintenance equipment, including mowers, utility vehicles, and other machinery.
- Engine & Hydraulic Systems: Perform minor repairs on engines, hydraulic systems, and other key machinery components to keep equipment running efficiently.
- Reel & Cutting Adjustments: Replace reels, adjust cutting heights, and make necessary modifications to ensure the highest quality of turf maintenance.
- Tire Maintenance: Handle tire repairs and replacements as needed.
- Tool Operation: Safely operate tools like welders and cutting torches for repairs and fabrication.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate service and repair records for all equipment.
- Workspace Organization: Keep the equipment shop clean, organized, and safe to ensure efficient workflow and a productive work environment.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Equipment Manager and Assistant Equipment Manager to ensure all equipment is well-maintained and ready for use.
What You Bring to the Team:
- Education & Experience: High school diploma required; at least 2 years of experience in equipment repair (preferably in the golf industry), with familiarity in gas, diesel, 2-cycle engines, electric systems, hydraulics, and reels.
- Skills & Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently under pressure.
- Professionalism & Attitude: A proactive, can-do attitude with a professional demeanor. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively collaborate with team members.
- License & Flexibility: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 100 lbs., work in various weather conditions, operate machinery for extended periods, and pass a pre-employment drug screen.

- Equipment Operators and Laborers, supporting day-to-day equipment needs.
