About the role
The Medical Billing Department Manager is a pivotal role responsible for leading and overseeing the Member Needs team. This position ensures the delivery of exceptional service to our members through effective communication and a member-focused environment. The Manager will drive the performance and development of the team, manage daily operations, implement process improvements to enhance overall efficiency and effectiveness, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance member experiences.
What you"ll do
- Directly manage Team Leads, providing mentorship and guidance to elevate their leadership capabilities and drive team performance.
- Oversee departmental operations, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and the delivery of exceptional service to members.
- Identify and implement process improvements, utilizing data analysis to enhance workflows, increase efficiency, and improve member satisfaction.
- Prepare and present comprehensive reports and analyses to senior leadership, ensuring transparency and accountability regarding team performance metrics.
- Address and resolve complex member issues and operational challenges, maintaining high service standards and ensuring member satisfaction.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to team performance, service quality, and member interactions, developing strategies for continuous improvement.
- Partner with other departments to support company-wide initiatives and enhance overall operational effectiveness.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and developmental check-ins with Team Leads, fostering a culture of feedback and continuous learning.
- Oversee the onboarding and training programs for new medical billing processors, medical record technicians, and determination adjudicators. Ensuring all are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational objectives.
Qualifications
- 3+ Years in a leadership role, with strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple priorities effectively.
- Proven experience working within a CRM and/or EMR system.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire team members and stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret performance data and inform strategic decision-making.
- Ability to motivate and develop leaders, creating a positive and high-performing team environment.
- Adaptability to new challenges in a dynamic setting, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- A strong commitment to delivering outstanding customer service and enhancing the overall member experience.
Experience preferred
- Experience working with and interpreting medical bills, statements, receipts and medical records
- Familiarity with HIPAA

The pay range for this role is:85,000 - 90,000 USD per year(St George)
