ASSISTANT SANITATION MANAGER

NATURE AND SCOPE OF POSITION
The Assistant Sanitation Manager will be working closely with the Sanitation Manager and the FSQA Department to ensure that the highest safety, quality, and productivity standards are achieved. The ideal candidate will be an emerging leader with the ability to work as part of a team. Attention to detail and diligence to complying with procedures and regulatory requirements is a must. The Assistant Sanitation Manager will be responsible for overnight sanitation of the production facility and equipment following daily production. The ideal candidate will prioritize safety, efficiency, and quality of their team and their work. This is a third shift position, with working hours from 9:30pm to 6:00 am, Monday through Friday.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB TASKS
- Work cooperatively with the Sanitation Manager to ensure the following are completed:
- Train, mentor, supervise, evaluate and motivate a workforce of sanitation technicians;
- Supervise and participate in sanitation activities at the production facility;
- Verify that duties assigned to employees have been completed in the scheduled time frame.
- Ensure audit-ready-program, GMPs, HACCP, SQF, OSHA and other regulatory requirements are being followed;
- Completion of sanitation documentation including ATP checks, rack washer temperature checks, sanitation chemical concentration checks, equipment checks, and supply checks;
- Follow, and ensure all employees follow all SQF practices and applicable regulatory requirements as trained and directed by management.
- Lead best practice development to improve procedures and minimize production downtime while maintaining an effective sanitation program;
- Develop and revise SSOPs and work instructions;
- Act as the Shift Manager in the event of the absence of the Sanitation Manager, acting with integrity and due diligence.
- Start shift independently of shift manager and work with the manager to establish the schedule and start up routine of the team.
- Any other sanitation-related task as assigned by the Sanitation Manager or Plant Manager
