Role Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Development Material Planner to manage material planning and procurement activities for new product introductions. This role is critical in ensuring seamless material readiness and availability to support development builds, pilot runs, and ramp-to-production schedules. You will collaborate closely with engineering, sourcing, operations, and manufacturing programs to align supply chain readiness with product development timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with cross-functional teams (Engineering, R&D, Procurement, and Manufacturing Programs) to understand development schedules and material requirements.
- Create and maintain detailed material planning for prototype and pilot build phases.
- Coordinate with procurement and suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of parts and materials for Development builds.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels for development projects to avoid shortages or excess.
- Resolve supply constraints and escalate issues that could impact build schedules.
- Ensure BOM (Bill of Materials) accuracy and timely updates in ERP/MRP systems.
- Support phase-in/phase-out transitions from prototype to production.
- Analyze demand forecasts and historical data to improve planning accuracy.
- Work closely with quality and engineering to manage part changes and engineering change orders.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor"s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in material planning, supply chain, or production planning, preferably in a manufacturing or high-tech environment.
- Strong knowledge of development processes and product lifecycle stages.
- Experience working with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis).
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with hardware or aerospace manufacturing and assembly.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles or APICS/CPIM certification.
- Understanding of ISO/AS9100 quality standards.
- Understanding of MRP principles, lead time management, safety stock calculation, supply chain KPIs and reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau is a plus).
- Knowledge of Bill of Materials (BOMs) and engineering change orders.

In compliance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this position is $90,000-$124,000 base salary. Please note that wage information is a general guideline only, and we will consider factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, and market conditions when extending an offer.
