Role:
To originate, manage, and supervise the Credit Union's portfolio of member business loans, with overall
objective of maintaining and increasing its asset quality; to develop new and existing business relationships.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
E 50% Takes applications for member business loans. Reviews member financial condition and assesses
the member's ability to re-pay the loan. Makes underwriting decisions within approval authority.
Completes or directs completion of all loan documents and closes loans.
E 20% Participates in developing lending and deposit business for the Credit Union. Calls on clients to
expand existing business; calls on prospects seeking opportunities to expand the Credit Union's
client base.
E 10% Monitors existing loan portfolio to maintain a high-quality asset base. Maintains up-to-date
member files including current balance sheets, profit & loss statements, cash flow projections
and all loan documentation.
E 10% Assists in collection of past due loans.
E 5% Assists members with any loan-related questions and concerns.
N 5% Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Performance Measurements:
1. Consistently follows The North Star Way Service Competencies and Service Standards.
2. Achieve or exceed assigned loan volume (dollars and/or numbers).
3. Ensure loan decisions are made and relayed to appropriate parties within 7 days of complete application.
4. Maintain a 30-day delinquency rate at or below 1% of loan portfolio.
5. Maintain a charge-off rate of no more than 0.40% of loan portfolio.
6. Ensure loan decisions are in compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and Lending regulations, policies
and procedures.
7. Troubleshoot and resolve member and internal inquiries in a timely and accurate manner.
8. Provide informed, professional, and accurate service and support to all members and associates.
9. Maintain a professional work environment and businesslike appearance.
10. Actively participate in Community and Credit Union Industry activities and events.
11. Minimal unplanned absences and tardiness.
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience - Three years to five years of similar or related experience.
Education - (1) A bachelor's degree, or (2) achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree (e.g., information technology certifications in lieu of a degree).
Interpersonal Skills - Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.
Other Skills - Must have experience in analyzing business financial statements and assessing the viability of businesses; must have excellent communication and PR skills; ability to use related software required.
