Summary of Position: Responsible for obtaining vascular imaging in the following areas: Extra cranial cerebrovascular, peripheral arterial physiologic, peripheral arterial duplex, venous duplex ultrasound and visceral vascular duplex ultrasound. This position performs the most complex professional level assessments in a variety of peripheral vascular studies and requires an advanced knowledge of peripheral vascular anatomy, physiology and disease process.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Produces acceptable images on patients as requested by referring physician, rendering preliminary impression to the interpreting physician.
- Verifies Physician orders, documents completion of procedure on patients charts and ensures that patients are properly identified and prepared for procedures including meeting age specific needs.
- Maintains complete, accurate and concise record keeping and documentation of the patient status and history (including obtaining previous studies if applicable); Communicates information to the Physician to assist in the interpretation of the exam
- Evaluates specific patient and/or group of patients' outcomes and changes plan of care according to patient status.
- Actively participates on committees, councils, policy development, unit specific policies/projects and professional organizations.
- Displays an ability to solve problems, think, reason and learn utilizing evidence based practice.
- Actively involved with the education and/or mentoring of peers, patients, community and co-workers.
Minimum Qualifications: Certification from an accredited Sonography training program required. Must be registered by the ARDMS in at least one area. RVT preferred but must be registry eligible and sit for exam within 1 year of hire. BLS
Salary Range: $36.86 - $60.51
Pay Grade: 36
