Position Summary
Provides leadership and hands-on technical support of Clinical Imaging-related applications and associated Technologies including PACS, Varian, PowerScribe, ISCV and vendor coordination, as well as applications/solutions integration with existing EMR software. He/she will analyze, automate, and assist with the integration of new applications.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities Includes the Following:
Understands and adheres to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors.
Implement and support Technologies related to Radiology, Breast Imaging, Radiology Oncology, Cardiology, Orthopedics and Neurosurgery Business areas (inpatient and ambulatory).
Supports the day-to-day operations of radiology staff (including direct support of all WPH radiologists and their associated technology by professional face-to-face, written or phone communication, translating requests into satisfactory solutions.
Responsible for all Imaging-related applications, including verification workflow, QA/QC, archiving, end-user support, troubleshooting, and end-user application training.
Organize and/or attend periodic departmental meetings to review that clinical information system documentation reflects current practice.
Participates in performance improvement initiatives as required.
Responsible for creating project management documentation, analysis, and methodology from initiation through installation. Performs and provides status reports for projects, requests, issues, risks and tasks as assigned.
Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to interact successfully with all levels of staff within the organization, physicians, vendors, and technicians.
Develops and maintains documentation of Imaging IT ecosystem inclusive of dataflow diagrams, server specification lists, integrations, interfaces, and application configurations.
Ensure Modalities are configured accurately to send images to PACS, including Integration of 3rd Party Systems/Applications.
Manage and support all workstations, including installation, maintenance, calibration, and User Administration of PACS and related applications.
Manage DICOM Data restitution including Target device Supply & Device configuration and Data forward to supplied DICOM devices.
Maintains composure in responding to crisis situations and take appropriate remedial action in making quick decisions which may have consequences for departmental operations and finances.
Maintains cybersecurity, and privacy of patient records and all other confidential information.
Reviews, analyzes, and modifies clinical application systems, which may include workflows, functional testing and troubleshooting. Documents, tracks, and follows-up on all reported vendor issues, problems, changes and requests for enhancements of clinical application systems.
Performs all other related duties as assigned.
Education & Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Must have a minimum of five years’ experience with Imaging Technologies including PACs administration.
- Minimum five years’ experience with Powerscribe and/or other radiology reporting and database management applications.
- Expertise in the use of Microsoft Office products, word, PowerPoint and Excel
- Significant exposure to and knowledge of hospital department operating policies and procedures.
- Demonstrated experience working with members of the IT and Imaging teams.
- Demonstrated experience successfully supporting Radiology and Clinical operations.

Physical/Mental Demands/Requirements & Work Environment
- May be exposed to chemicals necessary to perform required tasks. Any hazardous chemicals the employee may be exposed to are listed in the hospital’s SDS (Safety Data Sheet) data base and may be accessed through the hospital’s Intranet site (Employee Tools/SDS Access). A copy of the SDS data base can also be found at the hospital switchboard, saved on a disc.
