Duncan-Parnell is growing and we need to add to our staff to better support our needs. We are currently looking for a UAS Training Specialist to support our UAS (Unmanned Aircraft Systems) sales team and customers. The UAS Training Specialist will predominately be responsible for the area including Florida, Georgia, and the Carolinas, with occasional assistance required in other markets. This position can be located anywhere within this region.
Job Summary
This individual will play a pivotal role in documenting and delivering training for all UAS platforms in our portfolio. They will coordinate customer training sessions in collaboration with the UAS sales team, support internal training initiatives, and lead both virtual and on-site training events. Additionally, this role involves creating instructional and workflow-driven video content for both internal and external audiences.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with the UAS sales team to schedule and deliver customer training sessions.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for training on all UAS platforms and solutions.
- Facilitate virtual and on-site training sessions for customers and internal team members.
- Create high-quality instructional and workflow-driven video content for both internal training and external marketing or support purposes.
- Stay updated on advancements in UAS technology and workflows to ensure training materials remain relevant.
- Assist with troubleshooting and support for UAS systems during and after training sessions.
- Collaborate with sales and technical teams to ensure training aligns with customer needs and company objectives.
- Contribute to the development of best practices for UAS workflows in various industries.
- Provide product demonstrations to small and large audiences, showcasing capabilities and applications.
- Present UAS technology at conferences and trade shows, highlighting capabilities and industry applications.
- Tie UAS technology into broader Geospatial workflows, such as Survey, Mapping, and related industries.
- Assist with quoting and help facilitate sales as needed.
- Mentor and coach junior-level representatives, improving their technical skills and enhancing their performance.
Requirements:
- Proven UAV operator experience with verifiable flight time (fixed wing, rotor, or multirotor).
- Current FAA Part 107 certification (Required).
- Strong understanding of survey workflows, including coordinate systems, datums, and reference frames, with hands-on experience using Trimble Business Center to process UAS data and integrate it into geospatial projects.
- Experience with photogrammetry software (e.g., Pix4D) and LiDAR systems (Preferred).
- Strong technical knowledge of UAS sensors, including LiDAR, EO/IR cameras, and multispectral/hyperspectral systems.
- Familiarity with GIS/CAD-based databases and Esri software solutions (Preferred).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present to diverse audiences.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail to manage training schedules and documentation.
- Experience in creating instructional content, including video production and editing.
- Proactive problem-solving skills with a customer-focused approach.
- Willingness to travel 50-60% for training and demonstrations.
- Work schedule is typically Monday – Friday, but occasional weekends may be needed
