BASIC FUNCTION: As a valued member of the nursing team, the Registered Nurse – Float will commence their shift within a specific department and may be reassigned based on changes in census and acuity to ensure operational efficiency. Additionally, extended coverage in one nursing department may be required to address long-term absences such as illness, holidays, or maternity leave. This role requires the nurse to fulfill half of their shifts at the Long Term Care Center, with the remaining shifts determined by census and staffing needs.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- 50% of shifts will be dedicated to Care Center coverage.

- Delivers comprehensive care, administers medications (including intravenous medications), monitors vital signs, and collaborates with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Provides education, advocates for patients'/residents' needs, and contributes to health promotion and illness prevention efforts.
- Offers counseling and health education to patients/residents
- Provides support to patients/residents including bandage maintenance, pain management, and ensuring they receive adequate rest, fluids and nutrients.
- Observes patients’/residents' progress, records observations in patient medical records, and updates attending physicians directly when necessary.
- Assists in the maintenance of health and the prevention or management of illness, injury and disability.
- Performs a variety of tasks and other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduation from an accredited school of Nursing.
- Valid registration as a Registered Nurse in the State of Colorado required.
- Must have current BLS card upon hire. Position also requires ACLS, PALS or ENPC certification within 6 months of initial employment.
- Position may require TNCC certification to work in the Emergency Department within 6 months of employment
- At least one year experience in two or more nursing specialty areas (Long Term Care, Emergency Department, Med/Surg, Perioperative Services, etc.) preferred.
SALARY INFORMATION:
- $36.60 - $56.55 Dependent on experience may vary outside this range
- Additional $2.00 - $4.00 an hour for additional weekend and night shifts
- Bonus (If Eligible)
- Compensation may vary outside this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience
