SUMMARY / OBJECTIVE
The Eastern Region NRDP Men’s Coach is responsible for advancing Eastern Region male athletes through the National Regional Development Program (NRDP) to the U.S. Ski Team. The position works closely with U.S. Ski & Snowboard Development staff, including the Eastern Region Director, other NRDP regional coaches, U.S. Ski Team staff, and Eastern Region club coaches to lead an elite-level program for regional athletes to continue their athletic development toward the National Team. Annual performance targets include top-10 NorAm, U.S. Nationals, and World Junior Championship results, U18 Nationals podiums, top-300 world ranks, and athlete advancement to the U.S. Ski Team. Reports to the National Development Director.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Athlete Experience
- Develop, manage, and coach athletes to their highest potential and advance them to the U.S. Ski Team
- Support National Development projects within the established annual plan
- Plan, manage, and lead Eastern Regional Development projects within the established annual plan
- Maintain regular communication about programming with identified and emerging club athletes, their coaches and parents
- Assist in the education and development of coaches through project exposures
Operational Excellence
- Responsive communication via email, phone, and text with staff, coaches, athletes, and parents
- Positive and inclusive outward-facing demeanor as a gateway coach in the development system
- Work proactively with Alpine Development staff and all departments of U.S. Ski & Snowboard
- Proper maintenance of equipment, including rental vehicles, training equipment, radios, and video
Financial Performance
- Assist in making sure that all program participation fees are collected in advance
- Work to stay within established budgets for all projects
- Submit timely expense reports and reconcile each project within two weeks of completion

COMPETENCIES & EXPERIENCE
- College degree required
- U.S. Ski & Snowboard Level 200 coaches certification required
- Evidence of management, accounting, communication, and organization skills required
- Demonstrated technical coaching knowledge and proven ability to advance athletes required
- Team player who demonstrates loyalty to the organization and the whole athletic program required
- Computer skills, including video analysis, email, spreadsheet, word processing, and presentation software required
- Experience coaching at multiple levels: international, domestic FIS, and club levels preferred
- PSIA certification preferred
- U.S. Ski & Snowboard Referee Level 2 officials’ certification preferred
