As part of our dynamic team, you will be responsible for purchasing materials using our MRP and ERP systems: Issuing purchase orders (inventory, expense, direct-ship, inter-company, and sub-contract), and managing schedule changes for purchased material to support production lines and customer requirements. Works closely with suppliers to maintain adequate inventory levels and ensure timely delivery of materials to support production lines and customer requirements. Provides administrative support as required.
Essential Functions
- Manage assigned parts by reviewing Gains Inventory Optimization System (MRP), and issue purchase orders, transfer orders, and process reschedules (expedite/de-expedite) with suppliers.
- Maintain inventory levels to support corporate objectives and to ensure timely delivery of materials to support production schedules and aftermarket requirements.
- Populate the JDE system (ERP) with the supplier lead time, minimum and multiple order quantities, and current pricing.
- Work to resolve supplier delivery and/or quality problems.
- Work closely with Production, Receiving, Customer Service, Quality, and Accounts Payable to resolve all supplier-related problems.
- Maintains and/or develops supplier relationships.
- Participate in the supplier appraisal program for the on-time delivery and customer service evaluations.
- Support policies and procedures and effectively communicate with suppliers to meet management’s objectives.
- Other duties may be assigned or delegated as necessary.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- The position will not have direct reports.

Work environment
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a general office environment where typical levels of noise, dust, and activity can be expected. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. After completion of initial training, 2 remote workdays per week may be authorized.
Physical Demands
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, use hands, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
Travel Required
Required Education and Experience
- Two-year associate’s degree and/or 2 years of purchasing experience required. (Recent college graduates are encouraged to apply.)
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- MRP/ERP Experience preferred.
