POOL ATTENDANT -- SEASONAL POSITION --
Vacation Village at Williamsburg is seeking seasonal pool attendants to look after our guests and manage swimming pool areas toward providing a safe and enjoyable pool experience. You will have direct contact with guests daily enforcing safety rules and managing pool equipment and facilities, among other duties. You must have excellent customer service skills. a friendly demeanor, and a strong hospitality-centric spirit in accordance with Daily Management values.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Oversees the pool area and maintains inventory of all poolside equipment for guests
- Sets up chairs, loungers, umbrellas and tables throughout the day
- Cleans and maintains pool equipment and pool area in a neat, welcoming manner removing trash, soiled towels, etc.
- Checks for any damage to pool equipment and immediately reports said damage to Supervisor
- Removes any broken or damaged pool furniture
- Distributes towels to guests
- Enforces safety protocols as set out by the Resort; monitors guest activity toward ensuring safety
- Maintains a friendly, professional, cheerful and courteous demeanor always
- Always provides outstanding customer care
- Checks the chemical controls and reports any discrepancies to Supervisor
- Ensures daily log is complete
- Performs other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management.
Position Requirements (Skills/Abilities):
Experience: One year of hospitality-related experience or pool attendant/lifeguard experience is desired. Timeshare or Resort experience highly desirable. Must be able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously; communicate effectively at all levels; and demonstrate the ability to analyze and resolve problems. Bilingual skills a plus.
Skills: Excellent verbal communication and customer service skills; able to perform physical labor in all weather conditions, good time management and organizational skills.
Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
Flexible Scheduling: Must be able to work Evenings, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Holidays.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is required to use his/her hands and fingers to feel, and reach for objects of various sizes, shapes and weight. Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times. Ability to move and lift pool furniture.
