This position is responsible for overseeing all shipping & receiving and managing hazardous waste and chemical system management. The Facilities Supervisor will troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment, as well as provide support to onsite events and activities.
This position requires to be on-site in Cranbury, NJ Monday-Friday.
Key Responsibilities
- Shipping & Receiving operations at Corporate Office/Research & Development center
- Use of Fed-Ex Ship Manager to ship both non-hazardous and hazardous packages domestically and internationally
- Oversight and supervision of “Hazardous Waste Room” to ensure all hazardous waste awaiting disposal is stored and separated properly to meet regulations
- Chemical Management System to ensure all hazardous chemicals within the facility are labeled, accounted for, delivered to owner, and disposed of properly and in a timely manner
- Provide day-to-day assistance with all building requests, repairs, and preventative maintenance items as needed, including:
- Daily building tours to ensure all restrooms/restroom supplies and kitchenettes/ kitchenette supplies are stocked
- Support Research & Development group with light repair work to lab equipment when approved or directed by Facilities Manager
- Assist with oversight of Building C storage warehouse to ensure area is kept organized & clean, and all items in storage area are accounted for and stored properly
- Check of laboratory stock items in large lab storage, stationary supply closet and all other supplies closets pertaining to facilities and advise Facilities Manager when/if supplied need to be reordered
- Complete all building monthly safety inspections before due dates
- Use of JDE system to “receive” facilities PO #s to ensure vendors are paid on time
- Assist with management of building renovation projects
- Support with event setup and breakdown
Required Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
- Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record
- Certifications in Ground 49CFR, IATA Air, & RCRA VSQG
- Possess mechanical skills for minor building repairs
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Use of company cell phone to ensure availability to all building personnel is always within reach within the scheduled workday
- Some experience in Construction Management
- Available for after-hours emergency calls
- Ability to read Floor Plans
- Willingness to work overtime as needed
- Strong organizational skills & ability to multitask
- Demonstrate ability to adapt in an evolving environment
- Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Teams, and other computer programs
- Exceptional Customer Service and communication skills, both verbal and written
Environmental and/or Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Exposure to contained hazardous materials
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
- Use of ladders; some heavy lifting and moving of equipment required
- Light exterior work as needed (e.g. leaf blowing and snow shoveling)
