We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Behavior Technician to join our team. In this role, you will work directly with individuals who have behavioral health challenges, including autism and developmental disabilities. Your primary responsibility will be to implement treatment plans designed by licensed professionals, providing support and guidance to help clients achieve their personal goals. This position requires a strong understanding of behavioral health principles and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
Duties
- Implement individualized behavior intervention plans under the supervision of a licensed professional.
- Monitor and document client progress, including vital signs when necessary.
- Provide support in crisis situations, utilizing effective crisis management techniques.
- Assist clients in developing social skills and coping strategies to improve their daily functioning.
- Collaborate with families and other professionals to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations in all interactions and documentation.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills related to special education, addiction counseling, and working with individuals with disabilities.
Requirements
- Experience or education in behavioral health, social work, special education, or a related field is preferred.
- Knowledge of working with individuals with autism and developmental disabilities is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with crisis management techniques and addiction counseling practices is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being self-motivated in individual tasks.
- Previous experience working with people with disabilities is advantageous but not mandatory.
Qualifications
1. TSS/BHT must complete 40 hours of RBT training before seeing clients in-person.
2. Valid Driver’s License.
3. Must possess basic personal computer knowledge and skills.
4. Must be at least 18 years of age or older
