Job Title: Dietary Aide and Cashier
Department: Nutritional Services
Salary: $16.07 - $21.62 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
SUMMARY
Prepares and cleans up meals for patients, employees, customers and special events by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintains standards of quality food production with portion control and handles food in accordance with established sanitary standards.
Checks and verifies patient census and correct diet when in job classification.
Prepares sides for special OB meals as needed.
Assists with patient room service by answering the phone, taking food orders, placing the orders with the cook, filling patient sides and delivering the meal carts to the med/surg floor.
Operates dishwashing machine in a safe and efficient manner.
Fills condiments and paper products and restocks the retail area, resiliency rooms and break rooms.
Assists customers at the serving line and at the cash register.
Provides general cleaning of dining room, kitchen and dish room.
Supports the policies and procedures of the organization and the standards of the Joint Commission as required for full accreditation.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Graduation from High School or GED preferred. Some food service experience along with understanding the principles and requirements of sanitation and safety in handling food and equipment desired but not required. On the job training will be provided.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to employees, patients, and other co-workers of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
