POSITION SUMMARY:
The Obstetrics Technician provides basic activities of daily living care to obstetric patients and assists with data collection under the supervisor of the Registered Nurse. He/she performs general receptionist, clerical and support duties in order to facilitate efficient functioning of the Obstetrics nursing unit. The OB Tech scrubs for cesarean sections.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Licensure as a Nursing Assistant in the State of Alaska
- 1 year of prior experience as a nursing assistant in an acute care hospital
- Completion of Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training required within 30 days of employment
PREFERRED:
- Prior experience as an Obstetrics Technician which includes scrubbing for C-Sections and Completion of Nationally recognized Obstetric Technician course
