Silicon Valley Medical Development is currently seeking a talented Charge Entry Specialist to join our growing healthcare team!
Pay: $31.00/hr - $36.00/hr
Location: Mountain View, CA
Schedule: Mon-Friday 8:30am-5:00 pm
The Charge Entry Specialist will provide manual charge entry and registration in the Epic system for all Inpatient, Outpatient, Surgery, and Home Health billing. The staff will work directly in Epic while reviewing information received from the physicians. During this registration process Real Time Eligibility will be ran to check and confirm benefit information.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Three years of related work experience preferably in healthcare setting
- Ability to accurately type a minimum of 40 WPM
- Strong verbal and written communications, and active listening skills
- Strong computer skills including experience working with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), email, keyboarding, mouse movement and data entry skills to enter information accurately into the EPIC EMR
- Demonstrated ability to access state and federal websites for coding, billing and reimbursement information
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to effectively organize and prioritize tasks in order to complete assignments within the time allotted to maintain standard workflow
- Ability to work effectively as a team member who is flexible, cooperative and willing to assist others
- Ability to work independently with excellent follow-through and maintain confidentiality as required
- Knowledge of medical coding (including CPT4, HCPCs, ICD-9), with EMR experience preferred
- Knowledge of Medicare, MediCal, commercial and managed care insurance preferred
- Patient Registration Experience preferred
