The Infection Control Nurse is responsible for surveillance, infection control education, and development and implementation of hospital infection control standards under the advice of the Infectious Disease Consultants. Ensures compliance with quality assurance, safety, and infection control in accordance with regulatory requirements. Prepares reports, maintains records, and compiles statistics as directed/required. Performs other duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
Education-entry level, specialized skills, certifications and/or experience required:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Current California Registered Nurse license or Vocational Nurse license.
- Minimum of two (2) years hospital experience.
- Knowledge of theory, techniques and practices of infection control.
- Capable of safely performing functions indigenous to the position, including routine and extended periods of walking, squatting, stopping, reaching overhead, and lifting.
Infection Control Certification preferred.
Previous employee health experience preferred.
APIC membership preferred.
Knowledge of theory, techniques and practices of infection control.
Knowledge of theory, techniques and practices of acute and rehabilitation nursing.
Knowledge of hospital policies and procedures.
Knowledge of theory, techniques and practices of adult learning.
