Skills
I have experience in a wide range of areas that reflect both my creative side and my leadership abilities. I’ve worked in videography and video editing, where I’ve created compelling content that captures stories and messages in a visually engaging way. I also have a strong background in marketing and promotional services, especially from my work promoting for Sandbar in Santa Barbara, where I focus on driving foot traffic during off-peak hours by creating targeted promotional strategies and leveraging social engagement.
In addition to my professional experience, I also have entrepreneurial experience—I’m currently in the process of launching my own startup, SurfSpray, which is a product designed specifically for surfers to help with wetsuit maintenance and skin protection. This idea came out of my own personal experience and a need I saw in the surf community, and it’s been exciting to take it from concept to reality. You can learn more at surfspray.net.
I’ve also served as a store manager for a team of over 70 part-time employees, which taught me how to lead diverse teams, manage conflict, maintain accountability, and keep operations running smoothly under pressure. It gave me a strong understanding of how to motivate others, set clear goals, and execute efficiently—skills that are essential in any fast-paced business or sales environment.
About
My name is Sean Fisher Catlin, and I’m currently a student at UC Santa Barbara majoring in Communications. After graduation, I plan to pursue a career in sales, with a strong interest in either medical or tech sales. I’ve always been passionate about connecting with people and helping them find solutions, which is what initially drew me to the world of sales.
Throughout my time in college, I’ve gained valuable work experience that has helped shape both my professional skills and my personal growth. I worked as a store manager for a student delivery company called Snag It LLC, where I learned how to manage a team, coordinate logistics, and keep operations running smoothly. Currently, I work part-time for a company called Insight Strategies, where I hold the title of Tech Services. This role has given me hands-on experience with technology and has deepened my interest in pursuing a career in tech sales. In addition to that, I also promote for a popular club in downtown Santa Barbara called Sandbar. My role there involves increasing traffic and helping the club draw in more customers during slower hours. It’s fast-paced and people-oriented, which I really enjoy.
I consider myself an outgoing person with a strong work ethic, and I strive for perfection in everything I do. I take pride in doing things the right way and always putting my best foot forward, whether it’s in work, school, or my personal life.
Sports have played a major role in my life. Growing up, I played football, baseball, and basketball, and I still stay active. But surfing is where I truly find peace. It’s more than just a hobby—it’s something I hope to be doing for the rest of my life. Being out in the ocean clears my mind and keeps me grounded, no matter what else is going on.
Everything I’ve done so far—my education, work experience, and personal passions—has prepared me to move confidently into the next chapter of my life. I’m excited to keep growing and to find a career where I can use my strengths, stay connected to people, and continue striving to be the best version of myself.
