Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and control system drawings and schematics.

Ability to operate, monitor, and troubleshoot Building Automation Systems (BAS).

Regulatory & Compliance Knowledge

Knowledge of MGL Chapter 146 and applicable Massachusetts regulations governing boiler and pressure vessel operation.

Understanding of healthcare facility standards and regulatory requirements.

Familiarity with The Joint Commission Environment of Care (EC), Life Safety (LS), and Emergency Management (EM) standards.

Knowledge of applicable OSHA, NFPA, CMS, and local code requirements.

Operational Capabilities

Ability to independently operate and take charge of a licensed boiler plant.

Ability to identify abnormal operating conditions and implement corrective actions.

Ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Ability to respond effectively to facility emergencies and utility interruptions.

Ability to participate in rotating on-call, weekend, holiday, and off-shift coverage as required.

Knowledge of infection control risk assessment (ICRA) principles during maintenance and construction activities.

Ability to analyze equipment trends and recommend operational improvements.

Experience participating in Joint Commission surveys, state inspections, or regulatory audits.
