Guest Service RepresentativeSummary
Acts as a representative for Ashtabula Regional Medical Center. Greets patients and visitors with a primary focus of assisting patients to utilize the kiosks for registration upon arrival to the facility. May also assists patients getting into and out of automobiles and buses, provides transport services to patients and visitors, and maintains Ashtabula Regional Medical Center brochures, pamphlets and literature, stocked and neatly displayed on desktops/racks for customers’ use. The Guest Service Representative will serve as a fundamenta lsource of information and assistance for our patients and visitors in order to support a pleasant and safe healthcare environment as well as promote patient satisfaction.
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
High School diploma or GED. Ability to proactively identify patients and visitors who are in need of Guest Services. Excellent verbal communication skills are required to effectively interact with patients, families, physicians, nursing staff and to perform dispatch functions. Ability to function with understanding, empathy and professionalism when interacting with patients, family members and visitors who may be undergoing physical and emotional stress. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions from Hospital Administration, Nursing Staff, physicians and support personnel. Ability to establish and maintain friendly and cooperative relations with employees, patients and visitors.
Required Physical and Environmental Demands
Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time. Requires full range of body motion, including: ability to lift and/or bear the weight of 100 pounds or more while pulling, lifting, pushing and transferring patients to and from various apparatuses. Regularly pushes moderate to heavy weight of 100 pounds or more and occasionally up to 250 pounds. May be exposed to communicable diseases, body fluids, muscle strain, etc.
