Overview
The Plumbing Engineer will be responsible for the design, analysis, and implementation of plumbing and fire protection systems for a variety of commercial and residential building projects. Key responsibilities include conducting load calculations, selecting equipment, developing system layouts, preparing detailed drawings and specifications, and coordinating with other engineering disciplines. An understanding of mechanical and plumbing industry standards and building codes is essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate with the client, the MEP/FP/IT design team, and other consultants and engineers to ensure the design is consistent with the client’s vision, to identify and resolve areas of conflict, to ensure a fully coordinated interdisciplinary design, and to ensure the design schedule is maintained.Participate in meetings and conference calls when necessary.Use AutoCAD/Revit and other software to create document packages which include plans with appropriate equipment, piping, and construction specifications.Perform load calculations, pipe sizing, and any other calculations required to support the plumbing design.Coordinate with equipment vendors and manufacturer’s representatives for selection and specification of appropriate equipment.Provide construction administration (CA) services, including answering requests for information.
What We Are Looking For:
In possession of an accredited degree in Architectural Engineering with a Mechanical or Plumbing emphasis or a Plumbing Engineering degree.2-3 or more years of plumbing design experience with an MEP engineering consultant.In possession of Engineer-intern credentials in Plumbing Engineering.Good communication and organization skills, including ability to prioritize tasks.Ability to work independently and efficiently upon receiving necessary direction and information.
