Job Description/Summary
This individual is responsible formonitoring and ensuring the organization’s compliance with all regulatory agencies; licensing and accreditation.
Responsibilities
Ensures timely completion/submission of Quality/compliance documents, data, reports, etc., and conducts follow-up for missing dataReviews regulations and standards against programmatic and organization-wide policies and procedures to determine organizational-level of compliance, processes, recommendations, and initiates actions to ensure complianceMaintains current knowledge of requirements and standards for accreditation and licensing, including, but not limited to, state regulations, HIPAA, ACA, CARF, etc.Develops, initiates, maintains and revises policies and procedures as needed for the general operation of the Compliance Program and its related activities, as well as for risk management purposesCoordinates the development, implementation and maintenance of audit controls and measurements for internal processes, ensuring correct processes are in place for accurate, complete and compliant programs across the organizationMonitors compliance with USTF reporting requirementsCompletes internal investigations as directed by Director of Quality & Compliance Monitors for and reports HIPAA or compliance breaches to appropriate agenciesInstitutes and maintains an effective compliance communication program for the organization which includes both written materials and training programs designed specifically to promote understanding of compliance issues, laws and regulations and consequences of non-complianceCollaborates with the Human Resources Department and others, as appropriate, to provide an effective compliance training program, including appropriate introductory training for new employees as well as ongoing training for all employees and managersMonitors implementation of the Quality Improvement PlanFacilitates root cause analysis meetings and incorporates policy change as requiredMonitors ISR account list for Medicaid PEsCompletes licensing and accreditation applicationsReviews all Business Associate Agreements (BAA) with external entitiesMaintains Governance, Risk, and Compliance software (ComplyAssistant), including contract maintenanceServes as a liaison to licensing and accreditation bodies as neededCollaborates with leadership and program staff to prepare for licensing and accreditation inspections and to remediate findings, as neededAssists with all site visit activities, prepares plans of correction and monitors implementation
Competencies
- Knowledge of HIPAA and privacy regulations
- Knowledge of mental health and substance abuse regulations
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel functions for data analysis and reporting.
- Experienced with Microsoft Teams, Outlook, SharePoint, and cloud-based collaboration tools.
- Skilled in data management, dashboard development, and performance monitoring.
- Knowledge of electronic health record systems and quality improvement databases.
Qualifications
- Education: Master’s Degree in Social Work or related field
- Licensure: LSW/LCSW preferred
- Experience: minimum of three years' experience in behavioral field, and clinical licensure or direct care experience in respective field
