Position Summary
|
|
Under the general direction and direct supeivision of office manager.Maintain and file all medical records, x-rays, and charts.Deliver material to hospital and bring material to office.Pull charts for appointments using out guides.
|
|
|
|
Qualifications
|
- Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
|
- Must have good health as demonstrated by infrequent absenteeism.
|
- Must have excellent communication skills to communicate with a variety of clients in a professional and courteous manner.
|
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately with frequent interruptions.
|
|
|
|
Responsibilities & Expectations
|
- Preparing charts for scanning.
|
- Training of personnel for file room position.
|
- Cover for other staff members for time off, breaks, and lunches.
|
- Index and scan all documents correctly in EHR chart under the proper section.
|
- File charts alphabetically.
|
- Notify appropriate personnel of malfunctioning equipment in a timely manner (printer, copiers, faxes, etc.)
|
- Keep items stocked (example- paper in fax machine, etc.)
|
- Deliver material to various hospital departments and cardiologists' hospital offices.
|
- Retrieve material from cardiologists' hospital desks and distribute to appropriate department or staff members.
|
- Stamps outgoing mail and delivers to mail box daily.
|
- Responsible for all record releases.
|
- Obtain information for Doctor's and staff promptly.
|
- Mail- correspondence to referring physicians.
|
- Pick up mail from physician mailboxes in hospital daily.
|
|
|
|
Working Conditions
|
- Normally works 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday, with a scheduled lunch every day.
|
- May require paid overtime before and/or after normal working hours.
|
- Works in well-light and well-ventilated area.
|
- Subject to frequent interruptions.
|
- Will spend majority of day standing, bending, and walking.
|
- Will be operating copier, fax, computer, and printers.
|
- Will not be exposed to blood and body fluids.
|
- Expected to adhere to general office policy.
|
