Clinical RN or GN w/Permit (Radiology RN)Position Summary:
Provides nursing care for patients requiring radiological services; assesses patient condition; assists radiologists, physicians and department staff. Performs such duties that will maintain and improve the quality of patient care; recommends policy procedures and performs PI and risk management activities related to the radiology departmental patient care. Participates in performance improvement activities.
Qualifications:
A. Education: Hold a current Texas permit or license as a Registered Nurse. BSN preferred.
B. Training and Experience:

- Current BLS certifications required through American Heart Association upon hire or transfer to department.
- Successful completion of hospital and nursing orientation within 3 months of hire required.
- Complete the Customer Service course within 3 months of hire required.
- One year of RN experience in critical care setting preferred.
- ACLS and/or PALS within 3 months of hire or transfer to department.
- Moderate sedation competency completed within 3 months of hire or transfer to department.
- Complete the following competencies within 3 months of hire or transfer to department
C. Job Knowledge:
Comprehensive knowledge of general nursing procedures including IV therapy and patient care monitoring devices. Performance improvement and adult education principles helpful.
Unusual Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
- Occasionally required to lift and position patients for procedures.
- Job has the potential for exposure to infectious diseases and radiation.
