Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager with a strong background in the Water and Wastewater treatment industry focused on STP projects. The role combines project management and resource leadership with hands-on technical oversight and engineering expertise. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing STP site execution, supporting design and documentation processes, and ensuring timely delivery of project milestones. This role requires excellent technical knowledge, project management capabilities, and effective communication with clients and consultants. The ideal candidate will be responsible for end-to-end project delivery, including planning, execution, coordination of resources, technical supervision, client/consultant management, and ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to required quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning based on Baseline program and Client Coordination
- Develop the project plan and submit it to the client.
- Coordinate with the client on the project, technical and commercial matters.
- Monitor project progress and take corrective actions to achieve milestones.
- Conduct regular meetings with clients, consultants, and internal teams.
Engineering and Document Control
- Schedule, monitor, and expedite engineering documents such as material submittals, shop drawings, method statements, basic engineering process (BEP), P&ID, and general arrangement drawings.
- Ensure timely submission and approval of all technical documents.
BOQ Verification and Material Coordination
- Derive BOQ from approved shop drawings through the engineering department.
- Verify and approve BOQ and raise material requests to the purchase department.
- Follow up on procurement and ensure timely delivery of materials to site.
- Coordinate material inspection requests (MIR) and ensure the approvals.
Resource Planning and Site Execution
- Plan, schedule, and monitor engineers, supervisors, foremen, technicians, and machinery required for project execution.
- Supervise site activities and ensure work is executed as per approved drawings and specifications.
- Ensure compliance with project safety requirements.
Inspection and Approvals
- Raise work inspection requests (WIR) through the team upon completion of work.
- Ensure work meets contractual quantity and quality requirements.
- Follow up and obtain approvals from consultants and clients.
Quality Control
- Conduct internal quality inspections prior to submitting work inspection requests (WIR) and quality documents to the client/consultant.
- Ensure all works and materials comply with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and contractual quality requirements.
- Coordinate with the QA/QC team to close non-conformities and obtain timely approvals from the client/consultant.
Testing, Commissioning and Handover
- Prepare and submit testing and commissioning method statements, schedules, and plans.
- Arrange required manpower, tools, and equipment for testing and commissioning.
- Ensure successful completion of testing and commissioning and obtain inspection approvals.
- Coordinate final handover documentation and project close-out.
Billing and Payment Certification
- Ensure payment applications (PA) are prepared based on approved MIR and WIR.
- Verify that quantities and values comply with contract terms.
- Submit payment applications, follow up for approval, and obtain payment certificates (PC).
Cost Monitoring and Budget Control
- Obtain project cost details from the tendering department.
- Monitor actual project costs against the approved budget.
- Identify cost deviations and implement corrective measures to maintain profitability.
