Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, design, and manufacture fixturing to meet production schedules and optimize machining processes
- Collaborate within a team of engineers and programmers to support department responsibilities and objectives
- Edit and adjust programs as needed to support production manufacturing operations
- Maintain network backups of finalized programs and fixture designs at the completion of each job
- Prepare tool lists and coordinate with the tool crib to ensure necessary tools are available
- Order cutting tools when required and maintain updated tooling records as needed
- Collaborate with Engineering and the CNC Milling Manager to resolve process and routing issues
- Supervise floor operators as directed by the CNC Milling Manager
- Assist with machine setups and perform setups when necessary
- Troubleshoot setup, programming, and tooling issues to minimize disruptions
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Advanced CAM programming skills (Preferably CAMWorks)
- CAD solid modeling design skills (Preferably SolidWorks)
- Strong reading comprehension and blueprint interpretation abilities
- Proficiency in math, including algebra, trigonometry, and physics
- Active listening and problem-solving capabilities
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Mechanical aptitude with a deep understanding of metal shop operations
- High attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Proficiency in standard computer and digital manufacturing tools (word processors, spreadsheets, databases, DNC software)
- Understanding of safety measures pertinent to machining operations
Education & Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of machining experience with at least 1 year of programming (CAD/CAM) experience
- Strong computer proficiency, blueprint reading skills, and mathematical aptitude
- Demonstrated technical, interpersonal, supervisory, and organizational expertise
- Technical degree or certifications in a relevant field (strongly preferred)
