We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist Setup Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. This role is essential in ensuring precision and efficiency in the production process by setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machinery. Responsibilities
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work orders to determine machining requirements.
- Set up CNC machines including loading tools, fixtures, and materials.
- Perform initial machine calibration and make necessary adjustments to ensure accuracy.
- Monitor machine operation and quality of finished parts throughout production runs.
- Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning of CNC equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Identify and resolve mechanical or programming issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of production data, machine settings, and maintenance activities.
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in CNC machining preferred.
- Proven experience as a CNC Machinist Setup Operator or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of CNC machinery, tooling, and programming basics.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.
Qualifications
- Completion of vocational training or apprenticeship in CNC machining is advantageous.
- Experience with CAD/CAM software is a plus.
- Basic understanding of machine programming and G-code preferred.
- Physical ability to lift materials and stand for extended periods.
