Risk Management Coordinator
POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinates essential activities for operation of the University Health Risk Management Department to include but not limited to performing, coordinating, researching, analyzing, and facilitating regulatory agencies on-site visits. Performs complex administrative support for the Director of Risk Management and Risk managers. Interact professionally with key hospital, UTHSCSA, and other regulatory agency staff. Responsibilities require the exercise of independent judgment, effective and professional communication skills, ability to manage multiple interruptions and follow through with tasks as assigned. Maintains the handling and safeguarding of confidential information. Provides technical assistance to staff on operational issues, as necessary. Complies with University Health policies, procedures, and protocols for establishing and maintaining good working relationships with co-workers and Health System employees, patients, vendors, and guests.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent is required. Two years college education or business school is preferred. Five years of administrative secretarial experience in an office setting is required, preferably in Risk Management and/or a hospital setting. Basic knowledge in medical terminology.
