Flyover is an award-winning immersive flying theatre experience that transports guests through the planet’s most epic places. The attraction utilizes flight motion seats engineered to swoop, dip and turn, giving guests a feeling of flight, while a 65-foot spherical screen provides guests with an unparalleled fight across iconic locations and natural landscapes. Special effects, including wind, mist and scents, to create an unforgettable entertainment experience. Flyover attractions are located in Chicago; Las Vegas; Reykjavik, Iceland; and Vancouver, Canada.
About the role
The Maintenance Technician works closely with the AV SpecialistandiRideSpecialistto perform maintenance and repairs on a variety ofAV, ride,building systems,and equipment. This is a full-time role with all day in office. The wage for this role is $32-$35 USD/hourly.
What you'll do
- Monitor and ensure guest andteam member safety at all times
- Assistwith evacuation proceduresin the event ofan emergency
- Comply withOH&S policies and safe work procedures
- Serve as a ride operator as needed
- Performdailyride safety checks
- Maintainaccurateand detailed records of all issues, resolutions and maintenanceusing CMMS
- Monitor and communicate proper inventory levels for all parts and consumables to the Technical Manager
- Perform repairsandpreventativemaintenance ofAV andride systems
- Perform preventative maintenance and repair of building and related fixtures (ie. Painting, plumbing, HVAC maintenance)
- Support special and seasonal events asrequired
- Other tasks as required
Ideal Experience & Qualifications
- Technical background with an emphasis in A/V, mechanical repair, or facilities maintenance or combination thereof
- Knowledge and understanding of electrical, mechanical, building, and computer systems
- Comfortable working at heights and using fall protection equipment when required
- Familiarity with theme park maintenance and operation of ride systems is a plus
- Ability to make decisions, solve problems and exercise good judgment
- Strong commitment to building positive working relationships
- Willingness to work with a geographically dispersed team in a seasonal environment
- Resourceful, with a curiosity to solve problems and create new solutions
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Sense of urgency to complete job duties accurately and in a timely manner
- Sense of humor and ability to ‘let things roll’ when the unexpected happens
- Solid written and verbal communication skills
- Hospitality and service-focused mindset including the need to work successfully with both internal and external partners
- Strong sense of prioritization and focus to complete tasks
Physical Requirements
- Moves equipment weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted
- Positions self to service and install equipment which may include bending, stooping, crawling, kneeling, or reaching
- Frequently moves throughout jobsite and uses stairs
- May spend extended periods in stationary positions
- Uses ladders and elevated work platforms to complete tasks
- Works at heightutilizingfall protection equipment
