Cardiac Sonographer (PRN)POSITION SUMMARY AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Properly operates ultrasound equipment in order to produce high quality diagnostic cardiac images. Demonstrates knowledge of thoracic anatomy and internal structural anatomy of the heart. Knows the basic principles of Echocardiography, such as M-Mode, 2-Dimensional and Doppler Ultrasound. Complies with instructions from immediate supervisor and/designee. Maintains a good working relationship with co-workers and University Health employees, patients, doctors and guests.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
An American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers or Cardiovascular Credentialing International credential is required. New graduates must complete these required credentials within six months of hire. New graduates pending required credentials will work under the supervision of a registered Cardiac Sonographer. One year in the performance of Echocardiographs and Doppler Ultrasound is preferred. Must have current American Heart Association, Basic Cardiac Life Support.
