Schedule: Tuesday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4:30 pm
Open Door Health Services is seeking a full-time Expanded Duty Dental Assistant for our Dental Clinic.
Overview
As an Expanded Duty Dental Assistant, you will uphold our Mission, Vision, and Values. In this position you perform a variety of patient care activities to provide clinical support and assistance to dentists. Assists in the delivery of dental care and patient care management.

This position is located 333 S Madison St. in Muncie.
Roles & Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Places and completes restoration specified by the dentist.
- Assist patients in-patient flow through the clinic and escorts patients to operatory rooms.
- Obtains preliminary dental history and prepares patients for dentist's complete examination.
- Assists dentist hygienist with minor diagnostic procedures and treatments as directed.
- Takes radiographs upon proof of certification.
- Sterilizes instruments as assigned.
- Taking and pouring modesl, trimming.

Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED equivalence.
- Graduation from an accredited Expanded Duty Dental Assisting Program.
- Two years of work experience, preferably in a fast-paced, high volume, comprehensive care setting.
- Training equivalent to an accredited Expanded Duty Dental Assisting Program.
- Certification as an Expanded Duty Dental Assistant preferred.
- Prefer current x-ray certification.

Physical and Environmental Requirements
- Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, medicinal preparations, and other conditions common to clinic environment.
- Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range or use of approved adaptive equipment.
- Requires standing, walking or sitting for long periods of time. Occasional bending, stretching or lifting up to 40 pounds.
- Requires the ability to work under stressful situations.
