SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE
The Payroll Manager is responsible for overseeing and executing global payroll operations across multiple countries, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing. This role manages end-to-end payroll activities for the U.S. and U.K. through Rippling, coordinates payroll processing for Canada and Switzerland via Employer of Record (EOR) partners, and supports payroll execution in France, Italy, and St. Barthelemy by ensuring accurate timecard data, time-off processing, and timely submission of payroll inputs to external providers.
This role serves as the primary owner of payroll governance, controls, and compliance, ensuring adherence to all applicable wage and hour laws, tax regulations, and statutory requirements across all regions. The Manager of Payroll also partners closely with Finance, HR, and external payroll vendors to ensure accurate reporting, reconciliations, and payroll integrity across the global organization.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Global Payroll Operations
- Owns and manages end-to-end payroll processing for the U.S. and U.K. using Rippling, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
- Coordinates payroll execution for Canada and Switzerland through Employer of Record (EOR) partners, serving as the internal payroll liaison and ensuring accuracy of all payroll inputs and timelines.
- Oversees payroll input preparation for France, Italy, and St. Barthelemy, including: Collection and validation of timecards and payroll data. Processing and oversight of time-off inputs. Timely submission of payroll files to external providers.
- Maintains and enforces standardized global payroll processes, controls, and documentation.
- Ensures compliance with all applicable payroll laws, tax requirements, wage and hour regulations, and statutory deductions across all supported regions.
- Serves as escalation point for complex payroll issues and employee payroll inquiries.
- Conducts regular payroll audits, reconciliations, and data validation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Oversees accurate calculation and processing of employee and employer retirement contributions and statutory deductions.
- Identifies and implements improvements to payroll systems, workflows, and vendor processes.
Finance & Accounting Partnership
- Partners with Finance and Accounting to provide accurate payroll reporting, reconciliations, and data required for monthly close, audits, and year-end reporting.
- Supports payroll journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Ensures timely and accurate payroll tax filings and statutory reporting across all jurisdictions.
- Supports internal and external audits by providing payroll data, documentation, and analysis.
Payroll Compliance & Controls
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, local, and international payroll regulations.
- Maintains audit-ready payroll documentation and internal control procedures.
- Supports payroll tax compliance, statutory filings, and reporting requirements.
- Monitors payroll processes for accuracy, completeness, and regulatory adherence
QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong knowledge of multi-country payroll operations, including payroll processing, controls, tax compliance, and reconciliation.
- Experience managing payroll through HRIS/payroll platforms
- Experience working with external payroll vendors and Employer of Record (EOR) partners.
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple payroll cycles across different countries and time zones.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information.
- Experience with global payroll compliance and reporting requirements.
- Spanish bilingual is strongly preferred.
