Position Summary
The Planner/Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and analyzing integrated project schedules for large-scale data center construction projects. This role ensures alignment across construction, and commissioning activities, enabling predictable project delivery, risk mitigation, and optimized resource utilization. The Planner/Scheduler plays a critical role in supporting fast-track, multi-phase builds typical of mission-critical facilities.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Scheduling
Develop and maintain detailed resource-loaded
Level 3–5 schedules using Primavera P6 or equivalent Build integrated schedules covering: Civil, structural, architectural MEP systems (electrical, mechanical, plumbing) Equipment installation (generators, UPS, switchgear, chillers) Commissioning & turnover sequences Establish
Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) aligned with project execution strategy Support performance of Schedule-Cost Monte Carlo Analysis
Data Center-Specific Sequencing
Develop schedules aligned with
critical path for energization and commissioning Sequence key systems including: Medium voltage distribution Backup power systems (generators, fuel systems) Cooling systems (chillers, CRAH/CRAC units) Integrate
phased turnover / partial energization milestones Schedule Control & Reporting
Maintain schedule updates with input from field teams, subcontractors, and engineering Perform
critical path analysis, float analysis, and schedule risk assessments Generate: Weekly look-aheads (2–6 week) Monthly progress updates Executive schedule dashboards Track progress against baseline and identify variances Perform site inspections to check and confirm progress reported
Stakeholder Coordination
Interface with: Construction managers and superintendents Engineering teams Procurement and logistics Subcontractors and vendors Facilitate
schedule review meetings and pull planning sessions
Risk & Change Management
Identify schedule risks and develop mitigation strategies Support
delay analysis and time impact analysis (TIA) Maintain change logs and incorporate approved changes into schedule updates
Resource & Productivity Planning
Assist with
resource loading (labor, equipment, materials) Support productivity tracking and forecasting Align schedule with site logistics and labor availability (“labor shed” considerations)
