Full-Time / SalaryPosition SummaryThe Production Manager is responsible for leading and optimizing daily manufacturing activities of compost and mulch bagging operations, including bagging bulk organic materials and handling, staging, and selling bagged organic materials. Through effective troubleshooting, resource management, and performance monitoring, this role minimizes downtime, maximizes productivity, and supports overall business objectives.The Production Manager oversees a team to ensure safe and efficient day-to-day operations in compliance with all safety, environmental, and other relevant regulatory requirements and standards. They work closely with the Facility Manager and other members of the facility leadership team to drive continuous improvement, deliver high-quality products to customers, and meet budget objectives.
Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop a workplace culture in line with Denali’s four values: Care For Our Future, Climb Higher, Dig Deeper, and Stand Together. Work closely with the Logistics team and the Facility Manager to develop daily and weekly production plans that maximize efficiency and ensure on-time product delivery for customers. Assist in the development of product handling, staging, and loading plans to ensure safe, efficient operations. Coordinate with other members of the facility leadership team to ensure product availability for bagging plan. Adapt plans as needed to support facility operational objectives.Ensure efficient, safe operation of equipment, including but not limited to wheel loaders, forklifts, and bagging equipment. Work with operators to identify and remove unsafe work conditions. Collaborate with maintenance team and enforce daily equipment housekeeping to minimize downtime and maximize productive equipment utilization. Assist with preventative maintenance and minor repairs of equipment.Implement and maintain asset management practices to track equipment performance and utilization.Understand, communicate, enforce, and adhere to safe work practices and all applicable safety and environmental regulations, policies, procedures, and standards.Complete post-incident reviews and documentation for all injuries, accidents, and incidents. Work with the Facility Manager to implement necessary coaching and/or retraining.Ensure adequate staffing to achieve operational objectives. Communicate with frontline employees daily to establish expectations. Provide feedback on performance goals, explain daily operating plans, and enforce safety standards.Manage inventory processes to ensure they are completed accurately and on time. Assist with various product certification processes, including product testing/sampling and weights & measures verification.Utilize daily and weekly operating reports to analyze trends, identify bottlenecks, and drive operational improvements. Identify and implement process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and output.
Minimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredAssociate’s degree or higher in a related field preferredMinimum 4 years of experience in manufacturing operations or warehouse supervisionExperience with inventory control and production reportingProven leadership experience managing and developing teams
Preferred Qualifications3+ years in Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or related disciplineLean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement certificationExperience with asset/equipment management systemsBilingual fluency (English & Spanish) is a plus
