As the Engineering Lead for the Main Water Cooling System, you will be responsible for the architecture, design, and technical integration of large-scale water-based thermal management systems that remove heat from critical plant systems and enable safe, reliable operation.
This role is ideal for engineers with experience in industrial water systems, balance-of-plant cooling, power plant thermal systems, or large mechanical utility systems, who are interested in applying that expertise to a next-generation energy technology.
Key Responsibilities
·Define and mature the architecture of the main water cooling system, including flow paths, pressure ratings, and redundancy concepts
·Develop and evaluate cooling loop configurations, heat exchanger strategies, and system layouts
·Perform thermal and hydraulic analyses under nominal and off-normal operating conditions
·Specify and size pumps, heat exchangers, valves, and piping systems
·Coordinate with other plant systems to manage thermal and mechanical interfaces
·Support procurement activities and vendor technical interactions
·Develop and maintain design documentation, specifications, and system requirements
What you’ll need:
·Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
·Experience designing or operating industrial water cooling systems
·Strong understanding of pumps, rotating equipment, piping systems, and heat exchangers
·Ability to collaborate across disciplines in a complex engineering environment
Preferred Experience
·Power generation, nuclear, chemical processing, or heavy industrial facilities
·Steam generators, condensers, or thermal balance-of-plant systems
·Safety-critical or high-reliability system design
·Support of detailed design, or commissioning phases
