Under the general supervision of the Manager of the unit, the Resource Coordinator is responsible for facilitating, coordinating in conjunction with health care teams, staffing, supplies/equipment, and patient flow/scheduling as a charge agent. Develop, motivate, assess, and negotiate as a charge agent in an effort to enhance organizational effectiveness. Utilizes the nursing process to care for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients based on current standards of practice. Functions within the permissible scope of nursing practice as defined by the Georgia Board of Nursing and St. Joseph's/Candler Health System policies and procedures. Maintains open communication and is available to component organizations and practitioners sites for consultation.

- Performance evaluations for staff are completed. Budget preparation and monitoring. Maintenance and safety issues for the physical plant.
- Competes mandatory educational requirements in a timely manner. Assists Professional Development Coordinator/Educators in planning and presenting unit-based in-services.
- RN is responsible for trouble shooting and maintaining laser equipment, preparing and administrating medications and supporting patient during procedure.
- Calls patients at home after surgery to provide follow up and opportunity to clarify any instructions and answer questions.
- Calls patients the night before surgery to provide arrival times and answer questions. Gives preoperative instructions.
- Fulfills the needs of clinic members and their care givers by providing guidance, placing orders and completing paper work for personal, functional and social issues, including equipment and supplies.
- Coordinates schedule with posting, anesthesia, surgeons and staff. Uses resources wisely. Promotes on time starts.
