About Humane Society of North Texas
Founded in 1905, the Humane Society of North Texas is the oldest animal welfare organization in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. HSNT serves animals in need by providing services such as pet adoptions, spay/neuter surgeries and low-cost vaccinations, returning lost pets to their owners, cruelty investigations and humane euthanasia. We operate two pet adoption centers in Tarrant County as well as PetSmart and PetCo Cat Adoption Centers and an equine ranch located in Johnson County.
Position Summary
The Photography & Design Coordinator at the Humane Society of North Texas (HSNT) is a specialized production role focused on high-level visual storytelling and brand consistency. This position is responsible for the technical execution of all photography, videography, and graphic design needs across the organization.
By capturing compelling imagery of HSNT pets, staff, and events, the Coordinator provides the essential creative assets that fuel our adoption and fundraising campaigns. This role ensures that all visual content—from social media clips to print materials—meets professional standards and maintains a consistent mission-centric tone. Working within the broader Communications team, the Photography & Design Coordinator translates strategic goals into high-quality digital assets that inspire engagement and drive support for our lifesaving initiatives.
Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities
Photography & Videography
- Capture high-quality images and video of HSNT pets, staff, volunteers, events, and community initiatives to tell impactful stories that inspire engagement and giving.
- Create engaging video content for use across various platforms, including TikTok, YouTube, and Meta, ensuring a consistent tone and messaging.
- Manage volunteer photographers and coordinate shoots to ensure timely event coverage and promotional needs.
- Edit and deliver final media assets that meet established brand and quality standards.
- Maintain HSNT's digital asset library, ensuring an organized, current, and accessible archive of photos and videos.
- Oversee the department’s professional multimedia suite, including the photography studio, high-end cameras, lenses, videography equipment, and lighting kits, and ensure all equipment is maintained.
Design & Creative Development
- Design and produce digital and print materials, including newsletters, proposals, event collateral, and campaign graphics.
- Develop branded templates and assets to streamline design processes for Development, Operations, and Communications teams.
- Collaborate on customized donor proposals, stewardship reports, annual reports, and campaign visuals to advance HSNT’s fundraising goals.
Team Integration & Support
- Support weekend social media coverage by monitoring platforms during business hours and communicating any urgent needs or opportunities to the team.
- Collaborate with the Multimedia Manager on in-studio photo and video sessions; assist with pet handling, staging, and content setup. This role is active and hands-on during filming days and requires comfort moving around to help capture dynamic content.
- Train internal staff on social best practices when needed (e.g., for location-specific posts or stories).
- Communicate asset needs to the Multimedia Manager, assist with graphic design using Canva, etc.)
- Support onsite at select weekend events to capture content and post in real time.
Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities Needed to Perform the Essential Functions of this Position
- Expert-level understanding of photography, videography, lighting, composition, and editing techniques.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with experience managing creative staff and interns.
- Proficiency in Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Rush, iMovie), and related platforms.
- Exceptional organization, time management, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and meet multiple deadlines.
- Familiarity with PetPoint is a plus.

Working Conditions
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.

The pay range for this role is:3,500 - 3,500 USD per month(HSNT)
