Senior Manager of Financial Reporting
Summary
The Senior Manager of Financial Reporting plays a key role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and transparency of the company's financial reporting. This role focuses on external financial reporting, technical accounting research, lease accounting, lender reporting, and coordination of the annual audit process.
This position also supports the month-end close process through review and preparation of key journal entries, account analyses, and financial results. The role works closely with the Controller, Director of Accounting, accounting team, FP&A, and external auditors to maintain compliance with US GAAP and ensure timely delivery of financial information to external stakeholders.
Financial Reporting
- Prepare condensed GAAP financial statements for external stakeholders by aggregating and reclassifying detailed system-generated financial data and preparing the statement of cash flows.
- Prepare monthly lender reporting packages, including debt covenant calculations and related supporting schedules.
- Assist with preparation and analysis of the 13-week cash flow forecast.
- Analyze financial results and explain significant variances compared to budget and prior year.
- Ensure financial reporting is consistent with US GAAP presentation requirements and supported by underlying accounting records.
Month-End Close Support
- Review and/or prepare journal entries as part of the month-end close process.
- Review account reconciliations and perform key account analyses.
- Assist in ensuring financial results are accurate and complete prior to final reporting.
- Perform analytical review of financial results to identify unusual fluctuations or potential misclassifications.
Technical Accounting & Lease Accounting
- Monitor evolving accounting guidance and determine appropriate US GAAP treatment for complex transactions.
- Research technical accounting issues and prepare clear, well-documented technical accounting memorandums.
- Maintain and oversee lease accounting in accordance with ASC 842, including related schedules and disclosures.
- Assist with development and documentation of accounting policies and procedures.
Audit & Compliance
- Coordinate all phases of the annual external audit, including planning, interim, and fieldwork.
- Serve as primary liaison between external auditors and internal stakeholders.
- Maintain audit-ready documentation and support requests throughout the year.
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls and financial reporting processes.
Process Improvement & Collaboration
- Identify opportunities to improve financial reporting processes and increase efficiency.
- Collaborate with accounting teams responsible for billing, collections, accounts payable, and payroll as needed.
- Partner with FP&A to support development of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
Ideal Background
- BS in Accounting from an accredited university
- CPA or CPA candidate
- 4+ years of public accounting and/or industry experience
- Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP
- Experience preparing financial statements, including statement of cash flows
- Experience supporting financial statement audits
- Experience with lease accounting (ASC 842) preferred
- Familiarity with debt agreements and covenant reporting preferred

- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including ability to work with large datasets and build financial reporting schedules and analyses
- Ability to research and document complex accounting issues clearly and concisely
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
