Position SummaryG&W Products is seeking an experienced Metrology / Dimensional Inspection Programmer to support and advance our dimensional inspection and measurement capabilities. This role is responsible for developing, maintaining, and improving inspection programs
using PolyWorks, supporting a range of inspection equipment including portable CMM arms, 3D scanners, and fixed CMMs.This position plays a key technical role within the Quality and Engineering ecosystem—providing programming expertise, mentoring others, and helping ensure dimensional data integrity across production and quality processes.
Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, create, and maintain inspection programs
using PolyWorks for: Portable CMM arms3D scanning systemsFixed CMMsGenerate clear, accurate, and professional inspection reports to support production, quality, and customer requirementsDemonstrate strong understanding and application of GD&T and dimensional inspection methodologiesSupport and mentor inspectors on PolyWorks usage, best practices, and metrology techniquesManage and maintain inspection programs and datasets within the PolyWorks DataLoop environmentRead, interpret, and apply engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD modelsTroubleshoot inspection issues and provide technical assistance when dimensional challenges ariseCollaborate with Engineering and Quality teams to improve inspection robustness, repeatability, and efficiencyProactively develop technical skills and stay current with metrology tools, software updates, and inspection best practices
Basic Qualifications2 years of hands‑on PolyWorks programming experienceExperience with DataLoop or inspection data management systemsMinimum 5 years combined experience and training within an inspection/Quality Engineering roleWorking knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)Experience with dimensional inspection techniques and measurement equipmentProficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Excel, Word)Ability to work independently while supporting cross‑functional teams
Preferred / Additional Qualifications (Not Required but a Plus)Background in manufacturing, fabrication, or high‑mix / low‑volume environmentsExperience mentoring or training others in metrology or inspection softwareFamiliarity with continuous improvement or quality system environments (ISO‑based organizations)
