MHA Resident/InternPosition Summary:
Administrative Resident or MHA/ MPH assists POP Health staff on providing support on different projects under the direction of the POP Health manager.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education
Current enrollment at an accredited program in healthcare management, public health, or administrative healthcare related program.
Experience:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook is required.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Project and Visio is preferred.
- Possess strong interpersonal and communications skills. Clam, professional attitude in stressful situations and interactions
- High level of ethics in maintaining patient confidentiality
- Ability to perform multiple, concurrent tasks in frequently stressful and faced paced environment while maintaining strong internal and external customer service standards.
- Ability to perform clerical duties including greeter reception, answering telephones, faxing and other duties as needed.
- Handles a multitude of tasks simultaneously.
- Deal with and/or solves stressful situations.
- Communicates with administrative staff, physicians, and other staff in verbal and written form.
- Maintains professional composure under stress as in emergency situations.

Physical and Mental Requirements
- Stands, walks, sits and converses most of the day.
- Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, including pushing or and/or pulling.
- Operates office equipment including phone, copier, and fax/ printer and uses computer daily.
OSHA Category III: Normal routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluid or tissue and as part of their employment, incumbents are not called upon to perform or to assist in emergency care or first aid.

- Quality Assurance: Peer Review Project, Physician Reward Program, HEDIS, and Patient Satisfaction Survey Project.
- Operations: Strategic Planning, Waiting Time Analysis, No Shows Analysis.
- Finance: Current Financial projects
- Strategic Development: Environmental Analysis, Marketing Analysis, Outreach Strategies
Skills:
- Knowledge about monitor and evaluation techniques.
- Knowledge about healthcare systems.
- Knowledge about Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement models.
- Knowledge about Strategic Management.
- Knowledge about Healthcare Accounting and Healthcare Finance.
Safety/Infection:
- Follows job safety requirements.
- Reports accidents or incidents within 8 hours of occurrence by completing an incident report and forwarding to immediate supervisor and appropriate personnel.
