Supervisor, Environmental Services (E) - SJHSummary: Supervises Environmental Services Employees in the completion of routine daily cleaning and periodic project cleaning. Receives and dispatches requests for service throughout the Organization. Maintains par levels and tracks and documents linen usage for ancillary areas. Assists Department Manager/Director in completing annual performance reviews of Environmental Services Staff.
Education: In addition to the skills normally obtained through completion of a High School education, extensive experience in all aspects of Environmental Services procedures is necessary. Ability to communicate with all levels of hospital staff is required.
Experience: Demonstrated leadership ability preferably in Environmental Services in a health care setting. Ability to provide training in all phases of Environmental Services procedures. Excellent interpersonal skills and understanding of customer service.
Working Conditions, Physical Environment and/or Safety Requirements: Able to stand, sit, walk, reach, and climb stairs and ladders without restriction. Able to lift between 40-80 pounds using good body mechanics. Able to push heavy equipment, beds, stretchers, and wheelchairs. Exposed to all patient care elements within the hospital setting including medical waste, hazardous waste, and risk of needle punctures. Meets all safety training requirements associated with the Organization.
