Certified Medical Assistant- Patient Account Representative
Job Summary
Performs duties to assist in obtaining authorization and referrals. Work involves managing scheduling, answering phones, and keeping tabs on patient’s authorization to ensure that it is current and up to date. Initiate the process to obtain new authorization if current authorization runs out prior to the completion of the prescribed Hyperbaric therapy. Will be trained to monitor the hyperbaric treatment and perform other task within the department that are consistent with role of CMA. May train others. Performs related work as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
- Required
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
Experience:
- Preferred
- One year of Clerical or Medical Office experience
Certification/Licensure:
- Required
- Certified Medical Assistant
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Must obtain within ninety (90) days of start date
- Preferred
- Appropriate Hyperbaric certification when requirements are met by certifying agency.
