Oncology PharmacistJob Summary
Oncology Pharmacists ensure safety in compounding, preparing, and dispensing chemotherapy along with minimizing drug waste, managing drug shortages, and decreasing exposure to hazardous drugs. The Pharmacist will work along the Oncology Team to provide patient services such as patient education, monitoring adverse drug events, and evaluation of drug-drug, drug-disease interactions, and providing supportive care services. As a part of the Oncology Team, pharmacists can also be asked to take part in the decision-making process on chemotherapy formulary management, treatment protocols, compliance with regulations, and improvement of patient outcomes.
Qualifications
Education
- Required
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy
- Preferred
- Doctorate Degree in Pharmacy
Experience:
- Preferred
- Three to five years of experience in a comparable pharmaceutical setting
Certification/Licensure:
- Required
- Registered Pharmacist
- Sterile Compounding Certification
