Surgical Coordinator/SchedulerShore Physicians Group has an exceptional opportunity for an experienced Surgical Coordinator/Scheduler who is excited by the prospect of joining a group experiencing exponential growth. Core Competencies and Responsibilities
- Cordially interacts with physicians, vendors, clinical support, and hospital staff
- Exemplifies strong customer service skills to phone etiquette
- Demonstrates understanding, compassion and sensitivity towards patients, coworkers, and families
- Understands plastic/reconstructive and general surgical procedures
- Abides by scheduling protocol as directed by physicians
- Handles insurance verifications, referrals, and authorizations according to office guidelines
- Follows CPT and ICD9 best practices
Minimum Requirements
- 5 years experience in a medical office setting, or equivalent experience
- 2 years experience in surgical scheduling
- Previous experience in an ambulatory or hospital setting
- Thorough knowledge of CPT/ ICD9 coding and experience with surgical modifiers
- Ability to interact with all levels of physician practice
- Must be able to handle multiple physicians with multiple specialties
- Must be able to exhibit a history of customer service, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
