A CDL driver, or Commercial Driver's License driver, is responsible for operating large trucks and tractor-trailers to transport goods to include, aggregates, sand, gravel, and concrete material across various locations. Employee will be adhering to all traffic and safety regulations while delivering loads on time, requiring a valid Commercial Driver's License to legally operate such vehicles; their duties include pre-trip inspections, securing cargo, navigating routes, maintaining logs, and complying with weight and hour restrictions.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Operate a commercial vehicle in a safe and responsible manner, following all traffic laws and company safety guidelines.
2. Conduct thorough pre-trip inspections of the truck, checking for mechanical issues, tire pressure, lights, and fluid levels.
3. Securely load and unload cargo using appropriate techniques, ensuring proper weight distribution and compliance with regulations. . Loading and unloading trucks.
4. Adhere to all federal and state regulations regarding weight limits, hours of service, and hazardous materials transportation.
5. Interact with customers professionally, delivering goods on time and addressing any concerns.
6. Perform minor maintenance tasks on the truck, such as checking tire pressure and fluid levels.
7. Report any vehicle malfunctions, accidents, or incidents to dispatch immediately
8. Completing a daily truck log and submitting mileage reports
9. Communicating with dispatchers and other drivers using onboard radios or computers.
10. Follow safety procedures and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries on the job site.
11. Observe all company, road and customer policies and safety requirements.
12. All other duties as assigned.
