Diet Aide
Performs a variety of routine duties related to direct patient care, preparation of menus, recording percentage of food intake by patient, serving food to patients, stocking kitchen areas and facilitating communication between the patient, medical staff and the kitchen staff.
Job Requirements
Knowledge of /Skill/Ability to: Ability to perform simple computation and record keeping.
License/Certification: Current Food Handlers Certificate or able to obtain within thirty (30) days of hire. Employee must pass exams on all therapeutic content areas by completion of probationary period and annually.
Education and/or Experience: On-the-job training
Physical Demands and Work Environment Conditions / ADA Compliance
Exposed to heat, wetness, odors in kitchen and/or patient areas. Exposed to varying degrees of kitchen elements. Position involves standing, walking, stooping, and occasional carrying and lifting of lightweight materials (up to 20 pounds). May be required to sit for extended periods of time. Requires visual acuity and depth perception to recognize words and numbers; and hand and finger dexterity and hand/eye coordination to use a computer keyboard and common office equipment.
